The Giant Puppet Parade 2015

It is now official – on 21 February 2015 it goes again with the Giant puppet show in Siem Reap. The show that has already become one of the main art events in the town is now entering its 9th year.

Giant puppets manufactured by more than 600 Cambodian children and student artists from Phare Ponleu Selpak in Battambang will be carried through the city center in a colorful procession in the time of the Lunar New Year – an event that is widely celebrated in Cambodia with plenty of fireworks and crackers.

The route of the procession is still to be confirmed, however, from the experience of last years, it starts in the Old Market area and then parades through the streets of Siem Reap. Admission to the event is free, so be there early: in last years, this spectacular event attracted more than 15 thousands of visitors!
